Origin Story
Team 9659: Vanier Vikings is a robotics team based at Georges Vanier Secondary School in Toronto, Ontario. The team proudly adopted the Viking- its school mascot- as its own as well, embodying the spirit of strength, innovation, and teamwork.
Re-established in 2024, after a near decade of dormancy, the Vanier Vikings FRC team marks a significant resurgence fueled by the dedication of passionate teachers, community members, and students who recognized the transformative impact of robotics education.
With the backing of its school and generous sponsors, the re-established FRC team serves as a testament to the school's dedication to fostering innovation and providing students with opportunities to explore the realms of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM+).
In the short time since its revival, the Vanier Vikings have become a force to be reckoned with in the FIRST Robotics Competition. The team's journey is characterized by a rapid ascent, much like the Viking longships navigating uncharted waters. As the team continues to grow and evolve, the spirit of the Viking will undoubtedly leave an indelible mark, re-defining the legacy of Georges Vanier Secondary School.
